Hello Sunshine...

Looks like the wizards at the OC are putting another solid soundtrack compilation together...they've got some memorable songs from last season (Patrick Park's "Something Pretty" and Interpol's "Specialist" were two personal highlights) with some stuff from the upcoming year (The Walkmen and The Killers both perform their contributed songs live on the show this year.) Here's the track list...

"Saturday Morning," the Eels
"Hello Sunshine," Super Furry Animals
"Smile Like You Mean It," the Killers
"A Lack of Color," Death Cab For Cutie
"The Specialist," Interpol
"Something Pretty," Patrick Park
"You Got Me All Wrong," Dios Malos
"If You Leave," Nada Surf
"Big Sur," the Thrills
"Little House of Savages" (live), the Walkmen
"Trouble Sleeping," the Perishers
"So Sweet," Johnathan Rice
"Popular Mechanics for Lovers," Beulah
"Walnut Tree," Keane
"Maybe I'm Amazed," Jem
"Eastern Glow," the Album Leaf

In other OC news...The DVD of the first season will be released on Oct. 26th...about a week before the new season starts. There will also be another compilation mix called "Have a Very Merry Chrismukkah" which will, needless to say, contain holiday songs sung by various indie artists...

There also was some OC special on last night which I completely missed...no idea what it was about tho...hopefully nothing too important.

Leguna Beach premieres on September 28th. The MTV reality(?) show is about High School seniors in Orange County who are rich and pretty and listen to bands like The Postal Service...sounds familiar...CentralVillage is very very curious to see how this one turns out...

Finally...I just struck out on Green Day Irving Plaza Tickets again...literally seconds and they were gone...too bad...I'm not going out of my way to get into this thing, but if I happen to be walking down 15th street that night and I see the back door open...

Yeah, I got that too, but I think the novelty of seeing them perform at Irving was the major draw. Now that that's not gonna happen, I'll don't think I'm gonna go too far out of my way to see them...that thing looks like a hassle, with registration and wristbands and stuff...good to know, and thanks for the heads up, but I think I'll pass.
